What to expect when going to your first Reformer class🩰

Learning to use a reformer machine is similar to learning to ride a bike. It may feel awkward at first, but it quickly clicks, and you won't think about it again.

You will also realise that you are targeting previously underused muscles in new ways. Allow yourself the grace to accept that as you practice, you will become familiar with these movements and they will come more naturally over time.

Pilates emphasises self-reflection; try not to compare yourself to the progress of those around you. Your workout is all about you.

Comfort is essential in a Reformer Pilates class. Wear fitting, stretchy clothes that allow for a complete range of movement. Avoid loose clothing that may get caught in the machine. Grip socks are essential for preventing slips and falls.
